Obituary:
Dean Lindholm, after a valiant struggle with cancer, died at 2:15 a.m. on March 8, 2010, in Naples, Florida, at the age of 74.

Dean was born in Shanghai, China, on May 12, 1935, to Paul and Clara Lindholm, who were Presbyterian missionaries in China at the time. He grew up in China and the Philippines and in the USA. He graduated from high school at Brent School in the Philippines, from Hanover College in Indiana, and earned an MBA at Tulane University in Louisiana. He also served two years in the US Army. He worked as a sales rep for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria, IL and Central America, as a stock broker for Merrill Lynch, and after retiring in Naples, Fl worked for Bank of America.

He is survived by his beloved wife Karola Lindholm and his daughter Ingrid Spindler of Naples, FL; his mother Clara Lindholm of Skokie, IL; his brother James Lindholm of Evanston, IL; his sister Janet Lindeman of Anchorage, AK; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Dean will always be remembered for his devotion to his family, his thoughtfulness of others, his friendliness, his cheerful spirit, and his singing and ukulele playing. Dean was also known for his passionate advocacy for individuals with special needs. He was involved in the Special Olympics and various activities related to people with disabilities. Among his favorite activities were skiing the Colorado slopes, walking on the beach, and playing bridge.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on May 15 at Naples First Church of the Nazarene, 3100 Bailey Lane, Naples.
