Eugene “Bucka” Biela, 74, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Crestwood, Illinois, passed away on Sunday February 7, 2010.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on December 26, 1935 to Frank J. and Agnes (Detloff) Biela.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothea “Dolly” (Fryziuk) Biela, three children, Anne Kelsey, Larry (Christy) Biela and Carol (Harry) Engel, 8 grandchildren, Kristina and Kerry Kelsey, Clayton, Benjamin and Jenny Biela, Andrew Matthew and Adam Engel. He will be dearly missed by his three loving sisters, Virginia (Donald) Frawley, Bernadine Alfano, Leona (Joseph) Labriola and numerous nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his brother in law, Joseph Alfano.
Eugene moved from Crestwood, IL in 1979. He proudly served in the U.S. Army 1957-1960. He then served as Captain of the Village of Crestwood Police Department and Director of Public Works. After his move to Naples, he retired from the city of Naples, Public Works Department. After his retirement, he worked part time at the Golden Gate Ace Hardware at the service counter where he contributed with his vast wealth of knowledge to many locals and even served as “Santa’s Helper.”
Eugene was in affiliation with the organizations of: Gen. Kosciuszko Post 30 P.L.A.V., American Legion, D.A.V., The Moose Lodge, Crestwood Police Association, and an Honorary Member of The VFW.
Visitation will be held at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pineridge Rd. on Tuesday, February 9th from 5pm – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Rd, Naples on February 10th at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
